Andre Iguodala had an experience with USA Basketball in the past so that may give him a boost from day one this summer.

He participated in the 2009 USA Basketball National Team mini-camp and also joined the 2008 Men's Select Team of young guys that scrimmaged against Kobe Bryant, LeBron James or Dwyane Wade and the rest of the team that took gold at the Beijing Olympics.

Two years later, Iguodala has a chance to make a name for himself internationally.

“I think it’s a great opportunity for him,” said Sixers president Ed Stefanski.

“When you’re putting a team together to go overseas to play, a guy like that who can guard 1s, 2s and 3s and play multiple positions at the offensive end is a guy that they’ll look at closely.” Iguodala’s versatility is his biggest asset, one that allows him to play in the backcourt and at small forward.

He was his team’s leading scorer this past season (17.1 points per game).

He is primarily a slasher who uses his athleticism to finish at the rim with impressive dunks or lay-ups.

He is also a solid passer and rebounder, averaging 5.8 assists and 6.5 total rebounds per game in the 2009-2010 season.

He logged the second-most minutes in the league, trailing only Durant.
